Mobitor Technology Platform
MBM Technology
From a technology perspective, MBM is an open architecture and standards-based solution that targets Windows Mobile devices, i.e. Windows Mobile Pocket PCs and SmartPhones. The system does not use any third party middleware and/or proprietary sync solutions. MBM is 100% built on Microsoft .NET technologies along with Microsoft SQL Server as the underlying database technology
At the server end, MBM consists of the following:
- A Microsoft SQL Server Database, enabled with Merge Replication for client device synchronization.
- An optimized database schema targeted for mobile CRM and mobile business data delivery.
- SQL Server Synchronization Publications and Articles for optimized delivery of data to mobile devices.
- An XML based Business Data Isolation Technology enabling a horizontal architecture configurable for vertical deployments.
- Microsoft .NET services for data integration with Enterprise Systems.
- ASP.NET applications for System Administration, System Monitoring and error resolution and Reporting.
On the mobile device end, MBM consists of the following:
- A SQL Server CE database, native on Windows Mobile Devices.
- The MBM Client as a Win Forms application.
- The VME foundation libraries on .NET Compact Framework.
- Outlook integration code written in Pocket Outlook Object Model (POOM).
- Wireless Web Service interfacing using .NET SOAP.
IT
From an IT perspective, Mobitor and MBM minimize the implementation requirements and ongoing support. The initial integration work can be fully performed by Mobitor, and as discussed earlier, is completely non-invasive to your Enterprise Systems. Most new business requirements can be satisfied using the MBM VMEs facility thereby allowing IT to release new functions without upgrading the system. When upgrades are required, MBM provides for automatic version upgrades and over-the-air installs. MBM ensures that all business data is highly secured on the device and can be automatically deleted when devices are lost or end users leave the company.
MBM also includes the Mobile Business Administrator (MBA) and Mobile Service Manager (MBS) to maintain the system. Both are browser-based applications that can be accessed anywhere on your Intranet or over the Internet. The MBA provides system administrators with a graphical drag-and-drop environment to manage Activity Types and Templates, Mobile Content, and User Privileges. The MBS provides IT operations with a “dashboard-like” interface to monitor (and stop/start) all MBM services.
