Mobitor helped a leading specialty and natural products food distributor leverage their existing investment in a legacy warehouse management and promotions system by replacing an antiquated portable data terminal with a mobile Smartphone. Upon implementation of our solution the Smartphones became usable for real-time order entry with customer specific pricing, minimum order quantity and displayed all of the promotional items, terms and pricing that category and account managers had set-up in the Mobitor Promotions Management system which was integrated with the customer’s legacy systems. The users Smartphones also provided credit returns, plan-o-gram verification and trade-funds audits. The units also leveraged the Mobitor messaging infrastructure to confirm orders, shipment tracking and customer service escalation issues. Wireless Bluetooth barcode scanning is also integrated into the MBM Smart Client workflow.
Phase two of the solution will include A-GPS route optimization to reduce fuel and mileage costs for the sales reps as well as integrated electronic faxing, signature capture and wireless printing.
